Sanjiv
Sinha, a special correspondent with The
Indian Express, was one of the four
journalists who died in the plane crash that
killed Madhavrao Scindia this afternoon
(30th. September 2001).
His friends remember him as "a pillar of
strength and an epitome of composure, an
anchor that would not shake in any
tempest". He was always smiling, always
ready with a joke to liven the atmosphere. No
one ever saw him depressed, not even when he
was going through difficult emotional periods
in his life.
Sanjiv is survived by his father, a retired
Colonel in the Army, his mother and a brother
who is First Secretary in the Indian embassy
at Kiev, Ukraine.
