Senior
Congress leader and an Old Sherwoodian
Jitendra Prasada, who suffered a massive
brain haemorrhage a week ago, died in New
Delhi on 16th. January 2001 at 12:15 am
following a cardiac arrest. During his stay
in hospital several senior leaders, including
President K.R. Narayanan and Congress
president Sonia Gandhi called on him. He came
sharply into the public gaze when he tried to
swim against the tide by challenging the
leadership of Congress president Sonia
Gandhi.
